Discount pricing applies to normal, light to moderately soiled carpeting.  If you carpets are Very Heavily Soiled/Trashed-Out, different equipment and cleaning steps may be required at an attitional charge.  If you know your carpets are filthy, please let us know on the phone, and I will be happy to stop by and give you an exact quote prior to scheduling.

Some types of spots and stains, such as ink, red dye, candle wax, gum, and nail polish are difficult and time-consuming to remove.  Additional charges will apply to remove these stains.  The decision to pay for specialty stain services is up to you, but the cost will be much cheaper than what your landlord may or may not charge you.

Sorry, but we do not service apartments located downtown.

A Note to Penn State Students:

Hey guys.  My name is Paul, the owner/operator of Blue Diamond Carpet Cleaning, and the person who will be cleaning your apartment’s carpeting.  If you used me before or have read my reviews on Google, you already know that I am honest and do great work.

I know some of you are not too concerned with the quality of the carpet cleaning, and think that as long as you turn in a receipt for professional carpet cleaning you are off the hook.  This is not true.  If the carpets are not thoroughly cleaned and in move-in condition, the apartment manager will hire a company to re-clean the carpets and bill you!  So, please  be careful when selecting a carpet cleaner.  Most of the local carpet cleaners will do a good job, but there are one or two that charge a very low price but do terrible work, and you end up paying twice for carpet cleaning.  Some landlords actually specify in their lease that certain carpet companies are not to be used.  For example, you can check out Westside Village Apartments lease agreement at this link: http://rentwestsidevillage.com/pdf/blanklease.PDF (see page 7 paragraph 26.c.)

My Apartment move-out Special Pricing is rock bottom for the quality of cleaning I provide.  I look forward to serving you.

Payment

Payment is due at time of service at the completion of work.  I would prefer payment in cash, but also accept check and credit cards.

How to Prepare for you Carpet Cleaning Appointment

  1. Please vacuum the carpet prior to our arrival, including the edges.  If your apartment is furnished, you should move and vacuum under sofas, chairs, and beds.
  2. Most of the time, the carpet under furniture is clean and only needs vacuuming. If the area under beds needs cleaning, lean the bed frame and mattress up against the wall. Be careful not to damage the wall with the bed frame.
  3. Remove as much small furniture off the carpeting as possible. Coffee and end tables can usually be flipped and placed on a sofa or chair. Dining room chairs can be placed in the kitchen, and desk chairs can be placed on the bed.
  4. Needless to say, you should be completely moved out. After a quick walk-through, I need to start cleaning immediately in order to make my next appointment time.

Service Area and Parking Requirements

We only service apartments located in State College during the busy move-out period from mid July to mid August, and we do not service the large apartment complexes located downtown. Off street parking very close to the apartment entrance is must be available.

Specialty Stain Removal

A few types of spots and stains, such as ink, red dye, candle wax, gum, nail polish, and dried paint cannot be removed with regular cleaning and standard spotting techniques. These stains require special chemicals and are difficult and time-consuming to remove. Additional charges will apply to remove these stains. The decision to pay for specialty stain services is up to you, but the cost will be much cheaper than what your landlord may or may not charge you. Please let us know on the phone if you have any of these types of stains.

Security Deposit Refund Guarantee

We guarantee that you will not have any security deposit funds withheld or be billed for re-cleaning or we will refund your money.  This guarantee does not apply to apartments managed by the Apartment Store.

Some common sense exceptions and exclusions to this guarantee apply.  These include the following:

  1. Tenant is not completely moved out of the apartment at time of cleaning
  2. Pre-existing stains when the tenant moved in
  3. Pet stains and odor problems
  4. Tenant declines Specialty Stain Removal services
  5. Carpets are very heavily soiled and stained from abuse and tenant did not share this information on the phone so a restorative cleaning could be scheduled.
  6. Carpets are severely worn, matted, or abraded and obviously need to be replaced. Unfortunately, there are a few unscrupulous landlords who attempt to have their tenants pay for a second professional cleaning prior to replacing their trashed carpet, in a last ditched hope that it will make a slight difference and they might be able to get another years use if the next tenant doesn’t complain.

Trashed Apartments

Discount pricing applies to normal, moderately soiled carpeting. If you carpets are Very Heavily Soiled/Trashed-Out and Disgusting, the cost of cleaning them will be significantly higher and take me much longer to clean.  To be honest, I run into very few trashed apartments each year, you guys are pretty good that way, but if your apartment’s carpet is trashed, you need to let me know on the phone so I can give you an estimate and schedule much more time for your cleaning.
